Battle Mage
Battle Mages are those who yield both physical weapons and magic. In regular armies they lead the troops to the battleground, then stay back to support them from afar by summong monsters or creating barriers.
The foreign legion is famous for its many Battle Mages.

HPM; Hit Points Meter
A meter in the form of a wristband, developed to protect a person against physical damage while keeping track of his pulse. The HPM creates an invisible barrier when activated and absorbs all damage until the counter reaches zero. The hit points are meant to simulate a human being, when reaching 30 percent it means the person is unconscious, at zero the person has died.
HPM's are used by Soldiers and magic students so they can fight each other without getting hurt. A battle is over when the opponent has reached 30 percent.

Mage Hunter
Mage Hunters are a special force of the UN, used only in cases of extreme threat to the nations. Most members are people with a resistance against magic. They have a highly developed sense for tracing magic users and supernatural beings. Mage Hunters are used against mages who somehow have become outlaws.

Resistance against magic
Some people are born with a natural resistance against magic, meaning that attacks till a certain level against that person are reduced to zero. It is estimated that 1 on 800,000 people has this gift, but it's only a guess since it's impossible to registrate every person. The origin of this phenomenon is unknown, there are those who speculate it's something like a disorder, some think it's an inheritance of a bloodline (though the people who have this gift come from different countries).

Soldier
Those who choose the physical way of battle, but don't belong in the normal military. Soldiers apply at magic academies to learn how to defend themselves against magic and to develop their own skills. Surely they can be divided in groups of archers, swordsmen etc but most of them have their own unique weapons.

Spells
Though soldiers aren't supposed to use magic, it is recommended that they at least learn a healing spell. Spells for camouflage (using the element Water) and summoning can also aid a person in need.

War
Soldiers are only dispatched on special missions including fights with mages and monsters. There is a universal law that says that no Soldiers are allowed to participate in a war among countries.
