Teknoman Blade/Ness Carter (Nick Carter/Aiba Takaya)
Oh my god... Nick Carter? Isn't that a Backstreet Boy?! *laughs* Ahem, sorry... When humanity started to fear for earth's fate, a hero literally fell out of the sky... this was Blade. Creating a huge crater and almost blasting Star away, Blade crash-landed on earth after his fight with Dagger. He was then found by Star and Ringo.
This mysterious young man, age 17/18, becomes the introvert hero of the story. He has black (spiky) hair, emerald green eyes and a scar over his left eye and brow. At first he appears to be cold, but soon people realize that he doesn't want anyone to get involved... and get hurt. It's just the way he acts that really drives Star up the wall sometimes. :p
In the beginning of the story, Blade remembers nothing about himself or his family. But as the story develops, we get to meet some of his 'lost' relatives and friends... who have turned out to be his foes. Fighting them is his worst nightmare but he knows he doesn't have a choice. This creates a major development in his character. It's wonderful how his character changes as the story comes to its end... but it's also sad :'(
Tekkaman II? Duh of course he's there, he's the star of the show!
Star Summers/Aki Kisaragi

Star is one of the Space Knights and seems to be the 'jack-of-all-trades' member. With 19 years old, long dark blue hair and green eyes she's also the pretty girl in the series. Good at martial arts, experience with guns and some technical knowledge as well. Pretty impressive, huh? It's just too bad she doesn't use any of these professions except for a little demonstration now and then--but never for real combat.
In the first episode, 'FRIEND OR FOE?' Star was busy gathering some examples of the Venemoid sporeplants for research when something crashed into the area where she was working. Soon Ringo (who had been watching everything from the screen) arrived and they went out to look for its cause. And there they found Star's boyfriend-to-be AND the Earth's super hero, Blade. At first Star acts a bit like a concerned mother to a stubborn child, trying to win his trust and, eventually, his heart. But when they DO get a relationship it's nothing more than "Blade, are you alright?" or "Blade, please don't get yourself hurt!!" Quite annoying (sorry for some fans, it's just my own opinion) but in the last episode she almost shot Cain before Blade interfered. She might've actually done it. o.O
Star's also there in Tekkaman II!!! Since I saw the OVA I changed my mind about Star; she's so cool! Being the new chief of the Space Knights (where did Jamison go?) she acts cool and calculating, almost emotionless (unless D-Boy's around ^^;;), which is a huge improvement compared to the Star in Teknoman. In the OVA Star too is a Tekkaman and a very impressive fighter.
Ringo Richards/Sol Tekkaman #2 (Noaru/Teknosuit)
Together with his Space Knight colleague Star, Ringo discovered Blade after he’d crash-landed on Earth. Already from the moment Blade awoke in the Space Knights’ Center the two guys disliked each other and eventually ended up in a fight where Star got hurt (cracked skull, ouch >_<). Ringo blamed Blade because according to him, he’d been too careless and thereby forgot his time limit.
Ringo’s the pilot of the Blue Earth, the Space Knights’ vessel. He’s 20 years old with gray blue eyes, sandy blonde hair and a stunning 1.93 m tall. Being a card-game and food lover you can often see him playing games or eating chocolate bars in the series (he's sooo my type!). :) He and Star have been friends for a very long time, and they've know each other from school. With his brain, he could've become everything he wanted to be (what a genius :p), but chose to become a Space Knight.
Well, as I said Ringo and Blade form a perfect rival couple but as time passes he finds his respect for the younger hero and eventually they become close friends. Later they get to fight side by side; Blade as Teknoman and Ringo in the second (blue) Teknosuit, named Valkarie. Our rash fly-boy (my nickname for him ^^) proves to be an excellent fighter with a very good aim with his laser gun. Oh yeah, Ringo’s also the guy who named Blade ‘D-Boy’ (=Dangerous Boy). Somehow in Tekkaman II, everyone prefers using that name instead of Blade.
About Tekkaman II; he only appears for a full 43 seconds--yes I noted it down. -.-' While talking to Tina/Milly he's interrupted and gets carried away by men of some military force. No one knows what happened to him after that, but I think he was executed... *cries*
Commander Jamison (Freeman)
The commander of the Space Knights, he's an albino with short, white hair and the usual red eyes, plus a lack of taste for fashion--ever seen his pants? I thought people used those things for horse-riding... But he does have some cool glasses shaped like a ‘V’, which give him a spacey look. :D
Receiving great respect from his crew, he is a capable leader and will sometimes put emotional things at first instead of acting like the cold commander he appears to be. With 35 years old, he's a computer technicus and a veteran soldier. Towards the end of the story he creates a weapon called ‘polarisator’ which, handled by Balzac, kills Sword.
Maggie Mathewson (Rebin/Levin)
Okay people, prepare yourselves for a huge shock--> Maggie’s actually a guy!!! If you already knew this I’d suggest you to skip this part of the write-up because you probably won’t learn anything new. In the original Japanese version of Teknoman, Maggie’s called Rebin and is a gay guy who has a crush on Blade. I think it would've been more interesting if Maggie really had been a gay guy (me=shonenai fan). But as he's a transvestite, it’s hard to see whether he’s a man or a woman... Well, I’ll take Rebin as a ‘her’ for now.
19 Years old, short red hair--later in the series, it's long and almost reaches to her back-- and brown eyes, wearing a purple working suit and lime-green shirt under it. Maggie’s the computer whizz who can fix anything. She and Mac are engineering-partners and form a perfect team. Maggie also creates the Teknobot Pegas, who will help Blade to transform after his crystal’s been shattered.
Tina Corman (Milly)
Tina’s 16 and the sweet plus always optimistic communications officer. She’s the exact reflection of Shara, Blade’s younger sister, except for the shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes. She usually wears an orange coloured dress which is so short it makes me wonder why her panties don’t pop out. :) Miles O’Rourke and his crew all develop a liking for her, repeatedly saying how pretty she is and eventually pinching her bottom!
In Tekkaman II she’s 26 years old and still has the same job. She appears in a flashback while talking to Ringo (during those 43 seconds) before he's arrested. Not being able to help, she calls for him but can only watch the screen as they bring him to... where?! I don’t know! Argh now I’m really frustrated!!! Well, its was probably heaven... :(
Mac Mackelroy (Honda)
The Scottish father-figure of the team. Loves to play poker and can often be found playing that game with Ringo and Maggie, even though he always loses. He’s very protective around everyone, esp. Maggie. Never call him Mackelroy unless you wanna die!
In Tekkaman II: In the OVA he’s the head of the engineering team and has grown a lot of gray hairs after the original Teknoman series. His character has changed quite a lot... he's so emotional. (To be honest, I didn't like his new character at all--Mac as a softie? Come on!) He doesn’t appear really often in the OVA, he's just there to advice Star, the new commander, and to 'babysit' Yumi.

Balzac Saint-Jaques/Sol Tekkaman #1 (Balzack Asimov/Teknosuit)
Okay this is going to be a looong write up, since Balzac’s one of my favorite characters. *taking a deep breath*
Balzac first appeared in ‘SNAP SHOT’, pretending to be an ordinary journalist who wanted to write an article about the Space Knights and Blade, but actually being one of General Galt's spies. His mission was to steal information about the teknoprogress so his friend Marlow, a (technical) genius, could complete his work; a tekno-suit which would be strong enough to replace the original Teknoman. He proves to be an excellent spy, but almost blows his cover when he saves the Earth by shutting down the Space Ring’s lasers. As the journalist he pretends to be, he’s charming and spontaneous but also enigmatic. Ringo absolutely dislikes him (I hadn’t expected him to act differently) but Maggie develops a liking for him (next to her crush on Blade). The rest of them have their own suspicions but no one seems to actually discover his secret. Balzac finishes his mission as planned (with lotsa hacking and physical exercise, man can he dodge a laser well o.O) but Jamison already awaits him in his secret lab, then gives him the information he was looking for and then kicks him out. Huh? It appears that in this case, Jamison is willing to give his information to Galt if the Earth can be saved. Unfortunately, Galt becomes even more arrogant after receiving it.
Balzac tries out the green Teknosuit Marlow creates and destroys a whole flow of spidercrabs with ease, while Blade is about to freak out again. Marlow discovers that anti-matter is the source of the suit’s power and Galt gives the order to produce it in an antique machine. While trying to protect it, Marlow is attacked by spidercrabs and is hurt fataly. Enraged, Balzac picks on Blade by saying that he’s a monster and not human, almost making him flip again.
He and Ringo later take on Teknoman Sword and he kills her by blowing a hole through her stomach, but she kills him too by dragging him into the Earth’s orbit and they both explode (NOTE: this is only in the Japanese version; in the Australian version he’s still alive!! Joy!!). Balzac leaves behind a pregnant girlfriend Rachel (Mari). The little boy (Rick) with her was her little brother, but they made him her son in the Australian version!
General Xerxes Galt (Colbert/Gault)
Hungering for power, fat and bald and incredibly arrogant... that's Galt!
Okay, so he wants Blade as his own property. He’s hungering for power and really does everything that lies in his power to destroy the Space Knights. Sometimes (what am I saying! I mean always) he’s too enthusiastic about being the General, and thus he pushes the people during their mission, though he knows they can’t do more. Well, I’m glad he isn’t there in Tekkaman II, but his replacement isn’t much better either. :/
Miles O’Rourke (Bernard)
O’Rourke is one tough guy who gets to work alongside Blade in the episode ‘BOLD SOLDIER BOY’, also the title of his favorite song. He’s a very good leader, I guess a captain of some sort. He only appears now and then, but fortunately always at times when he’s needed; he saves Blade when he’s captured in some trap Axe created. He was also the one who gave Teknobot the name Pegas; to Pegasus, the flying horse. He also taught him to sing! A well-known quote:
"War isn’t about numbers Blade, it’s about people. Never forget that."
He said this to Blade, who just congratulated him with his (to him, only military) success. Later during the story O’Rourke sacrifices himself by stopping Lance from reaching Blade, who’s undergoing the teknoprogress for the second time in order to transform into Blastor.
Angela O’Rourke
O’Rourke’s widow, she joined the army to seek her revenge against the Venemoids. When she asked Blade to tell her what Miles said before he died, Blade answered that he couldn’t remember. Angela too sacrifices herself for Blade and Balzac by blowing herself up together with the mother spidercrab. Before she died, she told Blade to remember in his heart what had been done to him and his loved ones so he would never forget. This actually seems to work in the end, as Blade almost forgets everything except for his hatred for Darkon.

Teknoman Dagger (Gunnar/Fritz)
The first enemy Teknoman, he appears in the first episode ‘FRIEND OR FOE?’ while fighting against Blade and repeatedly calling him a traitor. His weapon is a huge sword-like bow which can fire arrows of pure energy. His armor is forest green and he has, like all Venemoid Teknomen, crimson eyes. One of them gets blasted out by Blade, though the scar is only visible in Tekno-form. He manages to lure Blade into a trap and destroys his crystal. But after the creation of Pegas Dagger gets destroyed by Blade. Dagger’s true identity is a mystery, I guess he must have been a crew member of the Argos or a friend, but he didn’t live long enough to tell us. I do know he has blond hair and red eyes (of course), and in the Australian version he has a terrible voice which gives me grey hairs! *shivers*
Teknoman Saber/Cain Carter (Evil/Aiba Shinya)
Yay, my favorite character! He’s so cool, and I know that many (girls) will agree with me at this point.
Saber appears in ‘BROTHER BEWARE’, taking down a vessel of the military force. Soon after he disappears and leaves the others only to wonder who he might be. While shopping in the city, Star, Maggie and Tina see him and mistake him for being Blade. Of course he doesn’t react when they call him and when they get back Blade says he’s been at the Space Knights’ Center all day with Mac. Then who was that guy?! Blade has his suspicions... Memories float by but are difficult to grasp. It turns out that Saber is actually Blade’s twin brother who was less lucky than he and turned into one of Darkon’s minions.
Saber’s the second Teknoman sent to fight against Blade, and is a much better opponent than Dagger. His armor is mostly black with here and there a bit of red, and he’s got the same weapons as Blade. Though, he can also let the armor on his shoulders slide down to cover his arms, and while doing that swords will appear. It’s not easy to explain, but just imagine his arms and hands being replaced by a great deal of armor and longswords. His favorite attack is pouncing on Blade with these sword-arms stretched out like a bird’s wings.
In human form (thus as Cain) he has red eyes and long, black hair (NOTE: In the last episode, he has blond hair!). He’s very muscular due to his training at martial arts... by the same sensei (master) as Blade had, the two used to train together. To be honest; I think he’s better-looking than Blade! And they actually don't look alike...
Well duh of course he doesn’t appear in Tekkaman II as he was killed in the last episode of the original series. Though in the second episode of Tekkaman II, they refer to him by showing a little part about the bible’s story of Cain who rose against his brother Abel.
Teknoman Shara (Aiba Miyuki)
Shara is the younger sister of Blade and Cain, I guess she’s about 17 years old or so. She has light green (almost blond) hair and brown eyes.
Desperate to find and protect Blade, Shara escapes from her Teknopod before the completement of her Teknoprogress. Due to that she has a very short life span. After her escape she heads towards the Earth but crashes in a desert. She's saved by the people living there, but when rescuing a little boy from a spidercrab they mistake her to be a monster and she flees. Later, two kind soldiers find her and offer her a place to rest but she's still determined to find her brother as soon as possible. Then the Space Knights finally find her and bring her to their base. Weakened as she is, Shara still wants to help Blade when the base is under attack again, this time by the combined force of Saber, Axe, Lance and Sword. Star guards her but gets knocked down by Shara (she’s cool!). Shara flies towards the battlefield but is quickly captured by the Venemoid Teknomen. Saber crucifies her and thrusts his lance right through her mid-section, thereby activating her self-destruction system. Shara hopes to kill the four when she explodes, but they all manage to escape. A ‘forget-me-not’ is all that Blade has left of his little sister who died in vain...
Personally I think that Shara is one of the most dramatic characters that I've ever seen in anime. The voice-acting in the American version was fantastic, my compliments for Shara's seiyuu (voice-actor)!
Teknoman Axe and Teknoman Lance
Two of the other Teknomen controlled by Darkon, who both played a little role in the series. Axe used to be Nick and Cain’s sensei, a master of martial arts. He lures Blade into a trap and uses some suicide attempt to kill him, but he fails.
Lance is the most mysterious one of all, just like with Dagger I don’t know who he was. He’s quite little but extremely fast. His special attack is the unexpected attack, and he’s a master of camouflage. Next to Shara he's also the tiniest Teknoman *snicker* but he's awesome. When Balde was undergoing the Teknprocess for the second time in order to transform into Blastor, Lance sneaked in and was halted by Miles O'Rourke, who put a bomb in his neck. He survived it, but was then atomized by Blade.
Teknoman Sword/Kathryn Thomas (Hun-Rii)
Sword is, next to Blade and Saber, the strongest Teknoman (and one of my favorite characters ^_^). She is the third in charge and capable of doing heavy attacks on her own. She was Conrad's fiancée Kathryn before the Argos was conquered by the Venemoids. Because of what used to be, she’s determined to give everything for her master.
In the end she fights against Ringo and Balzac but gets counter-attacked by their polarisator. Unable to keep hold, she drags Balzac off the Blue Earth and they both fall down into the earth's atmosphere. Balzac uses the polarisator to blast her mid-section away (ouch) before he explodes. Sword uses her last attack to ripp off one of the Blue Earth's wings, which sends Ringo railing down to earth.
"Darkon... remember me..."
Tekno Warlord Darkon/Conrad Carter (Omega/Aiba Kengo)
The leader of the Venemoid Teknomen, in the past Conrad, Blade’s oldest brother. The Teknoprogress made him to something inhuman, only Conrad’s face 'preserved' in his stomach (nasty, isn’t it?) indicates that he was human once. As the warlord, he has four arms (two normal ones and two above his shoulders). In the short time that he was shown to us, he proved to have powers that are above one’s imagination.
